      join the fun!

“To fall in love with God is the greatest romance; to seek him the greatest adventure; to find him, the greatest human achievement.” -Unknown

Our mission for the high school and middle school youth group is to bring the youth into the broader community of the parish while focusing on their own individual faith journey. We want to foster a love for the sacraments while developing a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and His one, holy, Catholic, and apostolic Church.

        Missions

Our 2023 High School Missions trip is coming up! We are excited to be going back to Texas where we did service work last year. This is an opportunity not only to get service hours but to truly make a difference in someone else's life. We are fortunate enough to be able to help those in need, grow in our relationship with God, and share in the Christian community through this trip.

        • When:  June 4-10, 2023

        Steubenville Youth Conference

The Steubenville Youth Conference is a great opportunity for our students to share their Catholic faith with others around the United States. Our students are able to connect with the larger Catholic Church and meet others who share the same morals, values, and religion. Throughout the weekend they will have the chance to encounter Jesus Christ.

For more information please check out the Steubenville Conference website.

    • Middle School Ministries (Grades 6-8)
      • Voyage

The middle school youth group meets for Voyage in the Boiler Room every other Monday from 6:30-8 p.m. Through music, fellowship, faith-filled discussions, and talks the middle school youth group seeks to inspire a relationship with Jesus Christ and his Church.

    • How can you help?
      parents & mentors needed

"Parents must regard their children as children of God and
respect them as human persons. Showing themselves obedient
to the will of the Father in heaven, they educate their children
      to fulfill God's law."
      -CCC 2222

It is important for parents to not only know about but to be involved in the youth groups at Christ the King. These ministries require adult volunteers and we are always looking for help. From special event setup to regular mentoring of our high school small groups, please consider serving our youth.

  • Meet John Labosky
    Coordinator of youth ministry

    • Welcome!

My name is John Labosky and I am the Coordinator of Youth Ministry at the Parish of Christ the King. Growing up in Tallmadge, Ohio, as the youngest of six my spiritual life as an adolescent was similar to most cradle Catholics--I read the Bible, prayed the rosary occasionally, went to mass on Sundays, and would reluctantly go to confession. However, in high school I found myself trying to decide what I wanted my life to look like. Knowing I wanted it to include service--of people or an organization--my discernment led me to Christ and His Church.

Everything I was looking for as a young man was found in the person of Jesus Christ. Joy instead of base pleasure, truth as opposed to the lies we are told. Adventure, purpose, meaning, and my true home. I now know how much the youth can offer the Church and vice versa.

I look forward to accompanying the youth of our parish.

      -John Labosky
