Msgr. Mueggenborg Appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Seattle - Meets Pope Francis at Papal Audience
May 4, 2017

The Holy See announced in early April the nomination of Rev. Msgr. Daniel H. Mueggenborg as Auxiliary Bishop of Seattle, Washington. As part of the Parish of Christ the King Centennial Pilgrimage to Rome, 41 parishioners attended the Papal Audience in St. Peter's Square on April 26. It was at this audience that Bishop-Elect Mueggenborg had the honor of meeting Pope Francis.

The Papal Audience is held on Wednesdays if the Pope is in Rome, allowing for pilgrims and visitors the chance to "see the Pope" and receive the Papal Blessing during their visit.

Bishop-elect Mueggenborg will be ordained to the episcopacy on Wednesday, May 31, at 2:00PM in St. James Cathedral in Seattle.

Join us as we congratulate Bishop-elect Mueggenborg for the nomination and wish him a fruitful ministry in the Archdiocese of Seattle. We also ask that you keep Monsignor in your prayers as he prepares for his new assignment.
