Neighborhood Parishes

MISSION

The mission of neighborhood parishes is to provide geographically-based outreach and support in order to foster greater communion of life and faith and to encourage each other in our call as disciples.

WHAT IS A NEIGHBORHOOD PARISH?

It is a smaller faith community composed of the parishioners that live around you. The parish has mapped all parishioner households in the greater Tulsa area to form these geographically-based communities. The result is over 30 neighborhood parishes each with their own leader who communicates and helps facilitate outreach and events. The size of each neighborhood parish varies based on the density of parishioners residing in various areas.

EXAMPLES OF NEIGHBORHOOD PARISH EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES

  • Tour of the Church led by one of our priests
  • Mass hosted in the home of a parishioner
  • Social gatherings such as a barbeque or open house
  • Helping hands committee to assist neighbors who might need a ride or helping hand
  • Welcoming committee to personally welcome new parishioners into the neighborhood and deliver them their welcome packet

WHO BELONGS TO A NEIGHBORHOOD PARISH?

All parishioners are included in a neighborhood parish unless you wish to be removed from it. We invite your participation to take the next step through this ministry! Connect with other parishioners, share your faith, and express love for God and neighbor. Connecting with parishioners who are neighbors, sharing your faith, and expressing your love for God can deepen your lived experience of the Universal (Catholic) aspect of our Christian faith and also help others to grow closer to Christ.

NEW PARISHIONERS

When you register with the parish, we will contact you to let you know who your neighborhood leader is. Expect to hear from your leader to inform you of the latest updates.
