REGISTRATION

Registration is open through Friday, Sept. 9. For those who attend a different parish, please get a letter from your pastor stating that you will be confirmed at CTK.

SACRAMENTAL RECORDS-DUE DATE: DECEMBER 1, 2022

Contact your Parish of Baptism to have your records sent to CTK. If baptized at CTK, please call the parish office at 918.584.4788  and be prepared to provide the approximate date of Baptism so they can pull your records. If baptized at another parish/church, call them and ask them to mail your sacramental records to CTK. Do not bring me a copy of your baptismal certificate. We need the official records, which include First Communion. If baptized at a non-Catholic church, contact the church of First Communion.

SPONSORS

The primary responsibility of the sponsor is to provide the candidate prayerful support and guidance in his or her Christian walk and to “take care that the confirmed person behaves as a true witness of Christ and faithfully fulfills the obligations inherent in this sacrament” (canon 892).

Being a sponsor is a lifelong commitment. A sponsor takes on the role of a spiritual parent who “brings the candidate to receive the sacrament, presents him to the minister for the anointing, and will later help him to fulfill his baptismal promises faithfully under the influence of the Holy Spirit”
(Rite of Confirmation 5).

Confirmandi should choose a sponsor who is:

1. A practicing Catholic
2. Confirmed
3. Not an immediate family member
4. Someone with whom they feel comfortable talking to and someone who is available to attend meetings.

Sponsors should plan on attending sessions with the Confirmandi. If they are out of town or unavailable, a proxy can come in their stead. The February meeting is also the rehearsal for the confirmation Mass.

PARENTS

Parents are the primary spiritual leaders in the lives of their children. Parents are always encouraged to discuss meeting topics with the Confirmandi. 

Each family should also sign up to bring dinner to one session. Some of the families last year cooked, some pitched in for catering. It is up to whoever signs up each week. Once registration ends, a signup sheet will be distributed.

Confirmation brings an increase and deepening of the Catholic faith. (CCC 1303) It is not a “graduation” from the Catholic faith; therefore, our confirmation date is not the end of our confirmation program. The program is two parts- Sacramental preparation and an intentional integration into the life of the Church. Making the decision to be confirmed means that you are committed to living a Christian life as set forth in the Gospels.
