The Parish of Christ the King has several ministries to help children participate with their families in an enthusiastic and committed life in the Catholic Church.

    • Sacramental Preparation for First Communion & First Reconciliation
      • Classes are open to all 2nd graders of the parish who will be receiving the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. Regardless of where you go to school, you must register. Classes begin on September 11, 2022. Upon registration, families will receive the full year's schedule.

Our sacramental formation program is called Pathways. It is a process of formation that seeks to meet families in their current situation, come alongside them, and lead them on a path home to Heaven. It is marked by a spirit of accompaniment as families work with each other, with other families, and with mentors to dive deep into the teachings of our Church. We will use this program to facilitate growth and guide families in developing their family faith life.

To learn more or sign up as an adult volunteer (prepare materials, assist with preparation meetings, help host receptions and assist with classes), please contact Abbie Andrus.

    • Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
      • The Parish of Christ the King offers Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS), a Montessori approach to helping young children receive and experience the most essential elements of our faith. Through this hands-on program, the mystery of God is made more concrete for the child allowing his or her unique relationship with God to flourish. The program is designed to nurture the relationship of the child and Jesus through song, prayer, presentation and hands-on work. The program is open to all 3 and 6 year old children of the parish.

    • Vacation Bible School & Totus Tuus
      • Vacation Bible School
VBS provides a  week of fun-filled faith enrichment for children ages three to entering Kindergarten. With a new theme each year, there is always  fun, fellowship and faith formation as we help children grow in their faith
        • Ages 3 to entering Kindergarten
        • 9 a.m. to noon each day (lunch not provided)

        Totus Tuus
The program's name is Latin for "Totally Yours" and was St. John Paul II's motto, taken from St. Louis de Montfort's "True Devotion to Mary." The program has a Marian focus, with a different theme every year that ties back into Marian devotions.
        • Grades 1-5 (9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, lunch not provided)
Children will learn how to pray, about the importance of prayer, explore the sacraments and discover how to participate more fully in Mass.
        • Grades 6-8 (9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, lunch not provided)
Designed for middle schoolers, students will strengthen their faith by focusing on prayer and meditation, small-group discussions, adoration, Mass and reconciliation.
        • High School Students (7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday night only)
Designed for high schoolers, students will strengthen their faith by focusing on prayer and meditation, small-group discussions, adoration, Mass and reconciliation.
    • ASK (Ask, Seek and Knock)
      • ASK is a series of informative sessions on the Catholic faith for youth up to 18 who have not received the Sacraments of Baptism, the Eucharist, or Confirmation. There will be the opportunity to be received into the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil. It is also for those children who would like to further their knowledge of the Catholic faith.

    • Little Flowers Girls' Club: A Fun, Flexible, Faith-filled Catholic Club for Girls
      • Designed for girls ages 5 and up, this club teaches virtues through scripture, saints’ biographies and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Based on the 1906 Catholic classic The Catholic Girls’ Guide by Fr. F.X. Lasance, and the spirituality of St. Thérése, the program has instilled in our girls a love of our Catholic Faith for over 25 years.

    • Growing in Grace
      • At the Parish of Christ the King, we aim to equip our families to build their domestic church by learning how to pray and live out their faith together. Growing in Grace is a family ministry that will help our families learn how to live in the rhythm of the Church and further enhance their faith life through everyday moments.

Through the use of the Pathways Family Formation Suite, Growing in Grace meets families where they are and walks alongside them on their faith journey. Utilizing beautifully packaged "boxes," your family will be equipped with resources sourced from the Word of God, Tradition, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, the lives of the saints, magisterial documents, and years of ministry with families. Marked by a spirit of accompaniment, participating families will work with each other, with other families and with mentors.

All families need to register (even those who participated previously).
